Terms of use

Effective: 12 July 2026

This document is a starting template drafted with Quebec's Law 25 and PIPEDA in mind. Please have it reviewed by a Quebec-licensed lawyer before you rely on it.

By visiting designedself.com you agree to these terms. Please read them before you use the site or engage the services offered here.

Who we are

The site and services are operated by Designed Self, a sole proprietorship based in the Province of Quebec, Canada.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the site: no unauthorized access, no scraping at a scale that burdens the service, no impersonation, and no use of the site to harass or defame anyone. You are responsible for the accuracy of any information you submit through forms on the site.

Intellectual property

All content on the site — including text, images, layout, and downloadable resources — is owned by Designed Self or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, adapt, or distribute it without prior written consent, except for personal, non-commercial use.

Nature of services

Coaching is not therapy, counselling, medical, legal, or financial advice. If you need any of those, please consult a qualified professional. Nothing on this site or in our sessions is a substitute for professional care where care is needed.

Disclaimer

The site is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that it will be free of errors, uninterrupted, or perfectly secure. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Designed Self is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or the services. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for gross negligence or intentional fault.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the applicable laws of Canada. Any dispute arising from the site or the services will be brought exclusively before the competent courts of the district of Montreal, Quebec, unless a mandatory rule of consumer or private international law provides otherwise.

Language

This site is offered in English and French. The French version prevails to the extent required by applicable law in Quebec.
